Feast of St Anthony 2007

On June 13th the annual Feast of St Anthony celebration was hosted at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish with Fr.Eric Pannike, Monsignor Burns from Precious Blood Cathedral and Monsignor Amadio of St Gregory parish. Hundreds of the faithful from parishes throughout the city came together on this extremely hot evening to celebrate the life of one of its favorite saints. St. Anthony was noted for many different good works but mainly celebrated for his dedication to helping the poor. This year the focus of Our Lady of Mount Carmel was to assist the "feed the poor program" of St Vincent de Paul Society. Over $2800 was generously donated to this effort to assist the poor in our community. We thank the City Police and a large contingent of the Knights of Columbus who led our procession safely through the neighborhood streets. And most importantly Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish is extremely grateful to everyone who gave so generously to this effort.
